Don F. Henry, Pro Shop Manager
A seasoned golfer, Don joined Country Club of the Poconos as the Pro Shop Manager in 2013 after his previous experience as a member of the Middle Smithfield Township Golf Course Advisory Committee, acting as the liaison between the Township and the Pro Shop operations. Don has been an active member of the Country Club of the Poconos Golf Course for 8 years as well as other courses in Arizona and Delaware, giving him additional insight to golf course operations. The Pro Shop Manager is responsibile for making recommendations for improvement of all Pro Shop operations, coordination between Pro Shop and Maintenance operations, assisting in the tracking of income and expenses, inventory controls, staffing and management of the day to day operation of the facility.
Don is responsible for promoting and marketing the Golf Course, inviting new Outings and Tournaments, coordinating golf and award banquets at the facility – and making sure our guests have the best golf experience possible. He developed and introduced “stay and play” opportunities and partnerships with other golf courses and resorts providing members and golfers with additional opportunities.
Before coming to Country Clubs of the Poconos, Don held executive positions with two Fortune 100 Companies where he was responsible for Business Development, Strategic Planning, Operations and Budget Development and Control. In addition, Don was employed in State Government for 35 years. The combination of both Private Sector and State Government provides additional insight beneficial to the operations of the golf course.
